Silkstar's Dream

Silkstar was in her den and she just fell asleep. Suddenly her mother (Coalfur) appeared, walking toward Silkstar. "Find you brother," said Coalfur. "He's waiting." Coalfur disappeared. Silkstar awoke with a frighting jolt. She ran out of her den to find her deputy.

Oakleaf, sleeping soundly was awakened by the commotion at the den entrance. "Silkstar?" he meowed. What could she want? What time was it? Nearly dawn, it had to be for sure. Licking a paw and rubbing it over his ear, he looked at Silkstar. It must be something important. How often did she wake him up, when the sun wasn't even awake yet?

Silkstar breathed heavily. "I have a brother in a different Clan. I don't know which Clan. But I had a dream that I had to meet him. And the dream says he's waiting for me. Does he know who I am?" Silkstar sat down gently. She faced her deputy with a cold stare. "Wait." She steadied herself. "If--I-I am from one Clan and h-he's from a-a-another, doesn't that mean I-I'm half-blood?" As she said the last word, she spat it out and dug her claws into the deep, broze sand. "It can't be."
