Green eyes peered out from behind the screen of brush, running up and down what could be seen of the open trail. It was empty, devoid of any and all movement. No groups Two-legs walking their monstrous pet dogs, no idiotic chatter as they passed by on their way to do whatever it is that humans do. The little she-cat took a deep, calming breath as she sat beside the path, thinking how it was too bad that there were no humans; she had taken a special fancy to unnerving them by making strange sounds that sounded as if they were coming not from a cat, but rather from the surounding forest. It was rather entertaining to watch the faces of the Two-leg victims of her petit pranks and to see them scurry off down the trail; their tails would have been between their legs, if they had tails that is.
She stood, moving away from her current position, but she remained behind the brush. The scent of other felines was in the air, but it was stale, a day or two old at least. It was one of the perks about being a loner: not having to worry about who was around, or where you were yourself. If somecat had a problem with your being in a certain place and you didn't, well, then you could either walk away or fight it out and prove your point. She liked to prove her point.
